Every afternoon we
have activities that offer you the opportunity to travel and learn
more about the area, while practicing your Spanish. We have
conferences and guest speakers talking about history, culture,
politics, women's groups, indigenous groups and ex-guerrillas
retelling their experiences. There are Salsa and Merengue classes
every week and we travel to nearby indigenous villages, markets, hot
springs, cooperatives etc. Every Friday night, we have a traditional
dinner to welcome new students and say good-bye to graduating
students.
On the weekends, we usually
offer the chance to volunteer at our reforestation projects on
Saturday. And on Sunday, we climb a nearby volcano, go mountain
biking, or visit the beach, Mayan ruins, agricultural cooperatives,
etc.
